Happy Wednesday everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed your weeks so far. As for myself, I did. Kaya seems to be doing a little better and she hasn’t purged since Saturday, so that is good. Shorty is doing good too, well basically as always, he is a little survivor that one. 😉
I found myself a little stressed last weekend though, since there was no loss but a gain, but now I am fine. I have started another experimental phase in my weight-loss journey. A couple of month ago, I upped my calorie intake from 1500 calories to 1755, also changing my foods by adding complex carbs and lean mean to my usual salad. I also added a couple of snacks to reach my calorie goal. The result was, that I stared losing again.
Now, I seem to have hit another stop, or slowed weight loss momentum – which I can deal with for a short time. God forbid it would take a few month!! I think I would slowly get all depressed about it, not in the sense of a medically depression that is. Anyway, I got great comments about that problem and therefore I have decided to make a deal with Shadowrun and try to up my calories again. Also thanks to Lynn and Pamasaurus for your comments. 😉
I am not sure whether it will start moving things for me again but I am willing to give it a try. Perhaps, I am really eating too little and upping my calories might actually help me, we’ll see.
So I started yesterday and actually I went about 100 calories overboard. I was shocked to see that the pretzel rolls which I had yesterday were 213 calories each…well, and I had three with my scrambled eggs. I had thought they were 150 calories and had three in order to hit around 1900. Well, I am still learning. Anyway, now I know!! So here is what I had/did yesterday…
So, in the next two weeks, which will be the time frame when it comes to this new experiment I will obviously blog it all. I am quite apprehensive but as said before, I am willing to give it a try. My weight last Saturday was 264 lbs and I will probably weigh-in again, next week Tuesday, since I started on a Tuesday, so for now my weigh-ins will take place on Tuesdays. Things might go whatever way in the next two weeks, so we’ll see. A deal is a deal Shadowrun. 😉
Oh and by the way, once I get home I will not be able to blog, since my monitor at home committed suicide yesterday…ah well, if it’s no trojan or virus it’s a suicidal monitor. Damn. So I will try to keep you folk updated during my lunch break.
Let’s stay focused, we can do it.
Good luck! I really hope this works out for you as well as upping my calories worked out for me!!
It seems so counter-intuitive and just wrong. It took me a while to get my head wrapped around it… but I’m happy I did.
And, YUM, pretzel rolls sound delicious!
Well, I am hoping for the best. The good thing about this entire experiment is, that I started focusing more on the calories of things. I have realized that I am eating too much break and that the bread I wam used to eating has looooooads and loads of calories. So I am going to change that.
Let’s see how it works then. And those pretzel rolls ARE delicious, they might be my downfall, I really have to cut back on those. 😉
Congrats on your progress thus far.
Thanks for dropping by and the transformation pics on your blog are great. We just sometimes lose focus on the important stuff, being all tangled up in our oun journeys. 😉
I have always been impressed with your willingness to try new things! With the exception of the three pretzel rolls, your day looks great! 😉 I hardly believe that oversight will hurt you though! Please, please keep us updated. I’m anxious to see how it works for you!
P.S. my computer is still in the shop!! I totally feel your pain!
Well, what do I have to lose but pounds, right? If it doesn’t work, I’ll just cut the calories down again. About the preztel rolls, you are so right there. I am seriously going to cut down my bread intake. Yesterday I actually had pretzel rolls again since I have problems waisting food and I still had some left. Yet I didn’t go overboard on my calorie intake that time. I’ll post it later. But from today onwards bread will be a limited item. 😉
The flat screen mnitors aren’t as though as the old ones used to be right? I had to change mine last year too. I love the little icons you get on “lose it”. I agree with Shadow, it’s pretty cool the way you always try new things! I hope it works for you and you will get more energy from the extra calories at least 🙂
I have been on this journey so long that I have accepted that the way I eat now – talking about the healthier choices I am making – will be the way I eat for the rest of my life. I no longer feel as if I am doing something special nowadays so experimenting every now and then is totally cool with me, as long as it’s leading me where I need/want to be. I would probably not experiment, if somebody were to tell me, I should try a calorie intake of 3000 calories a day. That’s a point where I would go “nah-nah, not me!”
Thinking back, I think, apart from the phases in my life, when I was just so down and had given up, not caring about my calories, I have always kept my calorie intake too low. So that’s a first for me – eat more to lose weight. *hahaha* Sounds ridiculous, right? But hey, I have only upped my intake some 150 calories…and seriously, what are 150 calories? That’s one ounce of almonds, right? So let’s see how it goes.
Yeah, I also like the icons too, Loseit.is was cool. 😉
You are absolutely right! With 150 cal. more you are way still under maintenance anyway 🙂
Well done! My two recommendations would be to drop any type of fruit yoghurt and the HerbaLife protein shake because both contain added sugar. Just my 2 cents worth. Kim*

I know, you are so right. I have no problem dropping yoghurt with too much sugar added, but I am yet not ready to drop Herbalife altogether.
I started it all with Herbalife and I think I need a little more time. I know now, that I could do perfectly fine without it, since it’s only calories after all. 😉 Yet I am planning to get some bloodwork done later this year to see whether all is still in order and see whether the sugar levels in my blood are the same as last year. Uh, since I am eating more meat, cholesterol might become an issue.
Well, since I have been contemplating dropping Herbalife for quite some time now, after the bloodwork is done might be a good time. I think my mind is on the right path. Thanks for commenting and I really appreciate your 2 cents worth. 😉
Pleasure. If you want to know more about cholesterol then I recommend the book “Big Fat Lies”. It’s an eye-opener!
Here’s the link to the book. Kim*

Thanks, I’ll check it put once I have my new monitor. 😉
