Here we go again. I am not stepping on the scale – maybe I should in order not to get a BIG surprise next Tuesday?? – so I can’t tell whether things are going down or up. Yesterday was another busy day. After work I cut up some raw beef for Kaya and Shorty, who are both getting all nuts about it.
When Kaya was still healthy, she would always “talk” in a way that could have been translated like “Great, you are back, now give me food!” Now it sounds more like, “Hungry…hungry…hungry…hungry! Hungry? … Hungry! …Hungry?… Hungry?? … HUNGRY!!??” You have to imagine, that she sounds like something that must be protected from ANY harm nowadays, she always sounds a little coarse and it’s always the same meow sounds she produces, she has gone up a few pitches and it makes you wanne rush to her and engulf her in a very gentle and careful embrace. Oh, she is such a sweety pie, I love her to bits!!
Shorty on the other hands is always the same, as soon as I show any signs of going to bed, he stops anything he is doing and scampers over to find his spot left to my pillow, turns a few times and then settles. Kaya drops by some time later and settles at the end of the bed, facing towards the balcony door.
Anyway, about yesterday, ja another busy day as every Wednesday is. Work, cats, food – no workout mainly because there is hardly any time – and the weekly Red Cross meeting. So I fed the cats, cuddle with Kaya, who decided to take a nap on my shoulder and then went over to Ronny, who has been out-of-town for a week, to have a coffee before the weekly RC meeting. We had an advanced training on behavior at scenes of crime, which was pretty cool, at times I felt like being trained to become a CSI.
Unfortunately the training did not end until 9:40 pm, so the only thing I did afterwards, was rush home, take a shower and go to bed. Even if my pc monitor had worked, which obviously it didn’t, what would I have done at that time, I mean, hello, my alarm clocks goes off at 4:45 am. Oh, while I was at Ronny’s, I ordered a new,… well “used” new monitor for 20 € and only 9,80€ postal fee, so I hope I will get it by the weekend, or else I won’t be able to use Loseit! and/or wordpress to keep myself and you updated.
Now, let’s get to what I ate yesterday. Despite the fact that I now know that pretzel rolls are quite heavy on the calorie side, I did eat the remaining 3 rolls with my salad before going to the RC meeting. I couldn’t just throw them out, I am like that, I jut can’t throw away perfectly good food. I guess, especially when it is so damn delicious.
Anyway, so I might not have gone overboard in regards to my calorie intake but my newly found solution to cut down on bread suffered a little bit yesterday. But now that this problem has been taking care of, since I have no more pretzel rolls left… YAY…I am ready to actually cut down on bread!!
Here you go, on Day 2 of the “Upping my calories-experiment” I had the following…

DAY 2
As written before, I didn’t manage to work out but since I had two tough workouts on Monday and Tuesday, I think I was fine. I did Exerbeat on both days, a combination of aerobic and boxing on Monday and boxing and stretching on Tuesday.
Now, I am not sure yet what I will have for dinner this afternoon but I am sort of favoring something with cauliflower and chicken, which would be good since I didn’t have veggies this week yet.
Anyway, enjoy your Thursday people and make the best of things.
All is well…

The good news is you don’t have to cut out bread completely! Of course the whole wheat variety is best, but if you love bread, as I do, you should not totally eliminate it. That leads to binging, which is not pretty!
Glad you’re thinking of cauliflower and chicken for dinner! Gotta keep the veggies and lean meats in there too!
You’re doing awesome, Janet! (What’s a milk snack, by the way?)
Can’t wait to hear how it’s working!
I know that I don’t have to cut it out completely, but cutting down is the right thing to do, cause I just looooove bread!! Usually when I have bread, I do normally choose the whole wheat versions but when I discovered the pretzel rolls – OMG, they are good!!! – I couldn’t resist trying them, which lead to having too many of them I think. I mean I was still within my calories but too many simple carbs can’t be good.
Oh and I HAD caluiflower yesterday. Actually I didn’t meet my calorie goal yesterday, since I couldn’t use my pc at home I couldn’t check where I was at and so I missed the target by some 300 calories, despite having some 15 almonds. You are asking what a milk snack is…ha, you got me there, let me get you a link to a picture here
The milk snack looks yummy!
And I am a huge fan of bread as well, although I haven’t tried pretzel rolls. I may have to see if I can find some here.
Almonds are such a good choice! I have them everyday as well. I like them in my spinach salad.
