I don’t really know what’s going on at the moment because despite the recent drop in temperature my apartment is still too hot.Β Outside it’s almost 10 degrees Celsius cooler than in here.

I have been thinking about going for another round in the forest tomorrow after work but I am not sure yet because coming Saturday I need to be doing another LSM course and when I did my last english LSM course I had hiked the day before and it was rather painful on my feet doing the training the next day. So I am not sure. I think that the temperature will be okay but I will also have to get up by 7:30 am latest – hold on, am I actually trying to find excuses here?? OMG, it looks like I am – sorry about that.

Okay, let’s make a deal here, if I don’t feel like going for another hike, I will at least do some hardcore 90 minutes of exerbeat. Is that a deal?? All of a sudden going for the forest sounds much more appealing. πŸ˜‰

Oh, I totally forgot, TOM is actually around, so I would have a pretty good excuse about not doing anything. HAHA! No, I will definitely do some workout tomorrow, promise to myself here.

The past 2 weeks, I had trouble getting up early enough to actually start working by 6 am and whatever I did, I just didn’t manage to pull myself from bed to just make it. So the past 2 days I have gone to bed very early and changed my alarm clock to 4:35 am, in order to give myself enough time to wake up and hit the alarm a decent three times to satisfy my need to slam something. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, so I have to go to bed in 30 minutes latest in order to have some good sleep and be in the office by 6 am, so I only wanted to post about last weeks nordic walk to my old gym and back.

I had checked out the route on http://www.runmap.net and discovered that the route would be 3.6 miles, then grabbed my poles, rather late I must admit, it was 8 pm, and left my apartment.

Looking back from where I have come from, not even half the distance walked …

The sun was already setting when I eventually reached the railroad. I don’t need to walk very far to get there but since I am living in a small residential area, I need to walk a few minutes to get past all the houses.

WOW, beautiful, did my camera take that picture???

I walked quite fast and actually I guess this was the first time I managed to get quite close to real nordic walking because at no point did I need to climb anything, the route took me down a bicycle path next to the rails with wild gardens opposite the rails and the air was filled with the scent of flowers andΒ  – oh yeah – some barbecue scent here and there. πŸ˜‰

I kept looking straight, trying not to focus on the path since this is the ordered position of the head when nordic walking because you don’t want to strain your neck and shoulder muscles in a bad way and cause pain in the process.

There is this small bridge across the rails, right next to my old gym and as soon as I was able to see that bridge I kept focusing on it but this darn thing just wouldn’t get any closer and I was walking really fast. By the way, when I had almost returned home, my feet started feeling a little painful, so I was really going fast. Usually I can do the forest for three hours before they start hurting.

Eventually almost there …

Taking a break

I took a break and rested my poles against the bridge, had some water that I brought along in my new waist pocket system. It’s sort of like a waist belt with pockets and you can place a bottle in a special pocket to the right. Well, I think I haven’t yet gotten the hang of that thing, cause on two occasions I really banged my right hand against the bottle. Ouch, I don’t know how I did that, but it really hurt. DANG.

It took me 35 minutes to get there and I started heading back after a 7 minutes break.

Heading back

It was slowly getting dark but this picture suggests that it was way darker than it actually was because the flash went off on this one.

Entering my residential area again.

Now, this time, it was really darker. πŸ˜‰

After I went into the path on the picture above, I decided not to nordic walk anymore and just walk slowly because my feet were tired by then.

I got back into my apartment at 9:15 pm, all sweaty and managed to burn some 900 something calories and about those calories, those I actually believe. πŸ˜‰

Okay, to finish this off, here is what I had the past 2 days.
